WORSHIP

Worship the Lord God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Finding us shackled by lesser pursuits, God cries out, “Let my people go, so that they may worship me" (Exodus. 8:1).

Our greatest purpose and hope lies outside ourselves, with God. As Trinitarian worshippers we strive to make a name for God instead of ourselves. Yet we believe our great good is bound to His great glory, so we do everything to the honor, praise, and glory of His name.

Hymns, Songs, Praise
Our worship music is a blend of hymns and choruses, old and new. We seek to offer God praise that boasts in Christ-crucified and exalts the high and holy God who loves us as his own.

Preaching the Word

Christ stills speaks to us through his servants when his Word is preached. In the ministry of the Word we hear from God. Thus a sermon that finds its bearings and boundaries in Holy Scripture is part of every Lord's Day worship at TBC.

Corporate Confessions of Sin
We regularly make prayerful confessions like this:

"Father, teach us not to sin with such abandon. We do it all so easily: Pretend, lie, envy, lust, criticize, brood, ignore, deny, consume, hoard, defame, distort, make excuses, hide from the truth, invent our own, and then expect an easy forgiveness for the asking.

God forgive us for our negligence of your holy character. Let us not misinterpret your patience with our sin as though it were permissiveness. Loving Father, astonish us with a wholesome, godly fear which will not drive us to despair, but cause us to number our days and give us hearts of wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen

The Lord's Table
Each Sunday we receive from the Lord's Table the body and blood of Christ. The bread and cup is Gospel nourishment, a remembrance that Jesus met all the demands of God's Law for us, and through his death we are forgiven every sin.

Confessions of Faith

We regularly make confession of our faith like the Apostle's Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
